Imagine that the earth is under a severe attack and our attackers instead of completely devastating us, they just decided to cut us in half. They just made a decision to cut our planets into parts. This is not an act of mercy rather attackers wants us to die a slow but painful death.

Well, when the cutting would begin, the tremors and shocks would be felt everywhere around the globe. Everyone would be feeling these jolts shaking their legs and coming from the very surface beneath our feet. If that happens then,

Our earth, our 4.5 billion years old. It is our home, the home where we have breathed since we opened our very eyes being merely an hour old. If this very home is cut into half, then all may not die at sudden rather some would survive for a short while if they are at right place and at the right time.

Cutting of the earth would feel like a doomsday. That would start by seeing a bright light in the sky which people would surely shrug off. But then, the ground beneath them would start shaking a lot and that bright light would start getting even more brighter. Here, at this point, people would understand that something is seriously wrong. As earth is sliced methodically into halves, so its core would be exposed to outer space. Which would cause enormous earthquakes. There would be huge casualties and millions would die due to the massive earthquakes shaking the surface with severe jolts. We all have seen, known or have personally experienced earthquakes at some point in our lives and we know about the misery, fear, chaos one single earthquake cause. Now just imagine the scale of damage, despair, and destruction a bunch of them would cause, that too by appearing on same time.

The people who are at farthest point from the spilt have greater chance of surviving longer at least from the initial earthquakes.

The global scenario would be chaotic, people would be frantic, running from here and there. They would be seeking an answer to their questions that what is really happening But all to no use. There would be no one to answer their questions. All the inhabitants of earth, to state, 7.6 billion people would be cut off from electricity. As all the grid stations would crumble and  would be down into ruins. There would be no power, so no social media and yes most importantly, there would be no answers to the questions. The big cities would present the most chaotic scenes, as people would be rushing from one corner to other to save themselves from crumbling buildings. All buildings would fall, all the bridges would fall and all the mega structures would be down into grounds.

The earth would start to spilt along with tectonic plates. So, this would cast off in space both the natural and human made materials.

As the slice would  also cut through the earth's atmosphere so that would expose the earth' surface to the outer space. This would cause even more catastrophic natural disasters for someone who luckily survived the destruction in the past couple of days. At this point the earth would try to help itself. The gravity of the earth would try to join both the slices of the planet. You must be thinking that it would be a good news for survivors and a great sigh of relief, but this would be even worst news. As survivors would then have to dodge the enormous chunks of matter which would be shooting between the two halves of earth.

Eventually, the survivors would feel the astronomical heat levels as the earth would become nothing but two spinning  arms of molten rocks. So, the chances of human survival are zero to none. Even whole the human race would go extinct. But these two rocks we used to call earth would continue circling each other. After hundreds of thousands of years untill they would finally reunited to form a new but much smaller earth. Over the years it would cool down and microscopic life would appear. And after hundreds of millions of years later that life could theoretically evolve into some new version of human species. And some day, those new versions of human species would find the relics of our civilization and would learn about the history of their planet.
