What Happens if Jupiter become a Star? ???
What if Jupiter becomes a Star?
What if jupiter had gained a lil more mass in its formation period and ignited to become a Star?
How different would have our Solar System turned out?
Would this new star mess with the orbits of the planets?
Would we see it from here?
This is What Happens if Jupiter becomes a Star and if you want to have answer to these questions than stick to this article as it is going to discuss all these possibilities in details.
Jupiter has twice the mass than all of the planets in our solar system combined. It doesn't have a solid ground. It is also made up of same elements as the sun. But yet it is not a star because jupiter doesn't have enough mass to initiate a fusion reaction at its core, a necessary requirement to be admitted into star club. But if eighty jupiters are combined then we can have enough mass to make a star but that star would be nothing like our sun it will be a red dwarf. Yes a small cool hydrogen burning star. Also, that hydrogen star wouldn't be so bright. Since jupiter is four times aways from us than sun, so earth won't get any heat from it. In other words, that red dwarf won't change anything on earth.
Yeah, You will be able to see it, a jupiter star would appear red and a bit brighter than moon at its full phase.
Would it at least have a gravitational impact over solar system?
Well, not much. The former gas giant would slightly shift the orbits of the planets but not enough to set them on collision course with each other or launch them out of their orbits
into outer space.
The only problem we face would be space rocks which jupiter might send towards the earth from asteroid belt, we need to learn how to detect and destroy them before they reach earth's atmosphere. Other than that, not much would change for solar system.
Things would get more fun if jupiter is replaced by a Sun like star.
If our Gas Giant became one thousand times more massive.
The solar system would go wild. Asteroids would crash into planets and planets would change their orbital course. It is hard to predict what would happen to earth in that gravitational mess. It can be both, being attracted to scorching jupiter or being drifter away in voids of space. In any case it wouldn't be pretty. In the reall world, jupiter is forever destined to be a planet and that is for the best. If you want to learn more explorations possibilities like this one, stay in touch with the What Happens.
