What Happens if Massive Asteroid Hits our Earth?

Would it disintegrate in our atmosphere?

How much time would we have to get out of the danger zone?

How big would that Danger Zone be?

Could Earth Survive the Collision?

This is What Happens if a massive Asteroid Hits the Earth and if you are looking for answers to these amazing questions then stick to the article as these are going to be discussed here at great detail. Just stick and keep on reading.
Asteroids are hitting the earth all the time, everyday space bombards us with about 200 tons of dust and sand. Car size asteroids makes to earth atmosphere about once in every year but they burn up in atmosphere never reaching the earth's surface. Like massive 10 kilometers wide rocks, like ones, which wiped dinosaurs from the earth don't come to often like one in few million years. Asteroid is the main cause that changed the very course of life on earth, have there been no asteroids hitting earth the dinosaurs would be alive today.
The ones which we have to worry about are asteroids of the size of football field. Which actually makes it to earth's surface called meteorites. It tend to come down to earth every two thousand years.
What if one of those is going to hit us tonight?
Well, in that case, the extent of damage from the asteroid depend on where it lands. Just 3% of our earth's surface is populated. It means 97 asteroids out of 100 asteroids would just plunge into ocean or fall at some uninhabitated forest in siberia or at northern Canada. But 3 remaining ones would strike the populated cities.
Imagine seeing a 100 meter long bright fiery rock just rushing towards you so fast. From the moment its passes the mesosphere, it would take less then 3 seconds to crash down to earth.
For a city like New york it would be like 2.5 million casualties. It would destroy everything in 3 kilometers radius. It would cause a damage to buildings in 7 kilometers radius. Maybe its not that bad.
Ever heard about a meteorite that slammed into russian city of chelyabinsk? That rock exploded with a gigantic force and caused around 33 millions worth of damage.

Well, in our scenario, the meteorite is 5 times bigger which could create huge radiations but is still better than 10 km wide asteroid hitting the earth. In that case, the shockwaves would wipe a good chunk of humanity right away. And earth would get a new crater over hundred kilometers across. Also, a ring of asteroid debris would give us a saturn like appearance, most of that debris would rain back down on earth sending cities and any thing that is not protected on fire. You could only survive by taking your family into an underground bunkers before this happens. Because on the surface it would be very very dusty. All that dust and smoke would block the sunlight. Without the sun all the plants and animals would die out.
After an year the atmosphere would be fine but there would be very less food left for humans. And if we don't get enough food that can be the end of our race just like dinosaurs 65 million years ago.

But luckily we have the atmosphere keeping us safe from the space rocks and Nasa which keeps eyes on all these rocks.
But sometimes that manages to be undetected and that is indeed worrisome but luckily humanity would survive through this if it manages to get into underground bunkers timely and safely.
